An Associate Membership otherwise known as Tenant Membership purchased by a tenant/renter allows them to use the parks, beach, fishing areas, one-day guest passes, register a boat (see section 5.2.9 in the Rules and Regulations), rent a slip, rent an equestrian stall, rent the facilities, and participate in Association recreational activities.
Separate fees are required for the use of some amenities.
Tenants have the option to choose whether or not to become Associate/Tenant Members with the approval of their landlord. Property owners’ memberships and payment of the annual assessment dues are mandatory; however, are not transferrable to tenants.
Steps for Completing Tenant Membership
- Tenants must submit a completed Tenant Membership Application and a copy of their current lease agreement to the Association Office. These documents can be delivered in person or emailed to admin@svla.com
- The Association Office will send a letter to the property owner regarding the tenant’s request. The letter outlines the property owner’s responsibilities regarding his/her tenants.
- The letter must be signed and returned by the property owner to the Association Office. The property owner’s property management company can also sign the letter however a current property management agreement must be provided to the Association Office.
- The Association will notify the tenant regarding his/her approval via a phone call and/or mail.
- Tenants can pay membership fees in full or in two installments; November 1st and May 1sy. The membership term begins on November 1st and expires on October 31st of the following year. The fees are listed on the Application form.
- Tenants needs to renew their memberships annually (see steps 1-6).
Associate Membership fees are determined annually by the Board of Directors every August and are made available the following month.
